Our mission is simple: to love, encourage, and help others.

People Loving People creates and supports initiatives that provide hope and practical assistance to individuals and families facing food insecurity and other hardships. Through acts of love, kindness, and generosity, we strive to foster meaningful human transformation and restore dignity to every person we serve.

None of this work would be possible without the tireless dedication of our volunteers and the generous support of our donors and community partners. Their compassion and commitment are truly at the heart of everything we do.

On January 1, 2026, the Shelter Rock Food Pantry locations in Manhasset and Westbury transitioned under People Loving People. This partnership reflected our shared commitment to ensuring continued access to nutritious food and supportive services for our neighbors in need.

By welcoming these locations under the People Loving People umbrella, we were able to strengthen resources and continue the compassionate, community-centered approach that has always been central to our mission.

In September 2026, after careful consideration, we made the decision to close our Westbury location. We are incredibly grateful for the volunteers, donors, partners, and community members who supported the pantry and helped us serve our Westbury neighbors during our time there.

While the Westbury location has closed, our commitment to serving communities across Long Island remains strong. We remain open to new opportunities in the future that will allow People Loving People to expand our reach and serve even more families in need.

Today, People Loving People continues to serve our communities through People Loving People Oyster Bay and People Loving People Manhasset, providing nutritious food, essential resources, and a welcoming environment where every individual and family is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.

As we look toward the future, we remain committed to growing thoughtfully, building meaningful partnerships, and finding new ways to fulfill our mission: loving people, encouraging hope, and helping our neighbors when they need it most.
